Personal Information in Our Care

This notice explains the information involved in reading this site, using its local tools and contacting the editorial desk.

Who is responsible

Browsecometwhirl Audio Editions Ltd is responsible for personal information it processes through this website and related editorial correspondence. Our company number is 15872463 and our registered office is 31 Museum Street, London, WC1A 1LH, UK. Contact [email protected] for privacy questions or requests.

Information used while you browse

Your browser requests pages, styles, scripts and images from the website's hosting service. Such requests necessarily involve technical information, including your IP address, requested resource and connection details. Hosting infrastructure may record access or security logs to deliver the site, diagnose faults and protect it from abuse. We do not use the site's own code to create advertising profiles, run audience analytics or embed third-party tracking.

The session-note composer

The contact tool processes entered details in your browser to build a plain-text preview. It does not submit the form, upload your note or save the message in local storage. The preview exists while the page is open. Your browser may offer its own form-history or autofill functions, which you can manage in browser settings.

Copy notes uses your device's clipboard when you choose that action. Download .txt creates a text file for your device. Other apps, clipboard synchronisation services or backup services may handle those copies according to your settings. You control whether to send the resulting text to us.

If you email us

We receive your email address, message content and any information you choose to include. We use that information to respond, evaluate corrections, maintain relevant editorial records and protect the correspondence service. Our usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in managing editorial enquiries and accurate publications. Where a separate service or legal obligation applies, the relevant contractual or legal basis may also apply.

Please do not send sensitive personal data, passwords or confidential project material. We do not sell enquiry data or add correspondents to a marketing mailing list.

Service providers and transfers

Hosting and email providers may process technical records or correspondence as needed to provide those services. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it for the relevant purpose. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. If processing involves a restricted international transfer, applicable safeguards must be used, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections.

Retention and security

We retain correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to address the enquiry, document a relevant editorial decision or meet legal requirements. Technical logs should be retained only for operational and security needs. Copies may remain in routine backups until those backups rotate. You may ask about the retention applicable to your particular correspondence.

No online service or email system can guarantee absolute security. Avoid sending material whose disclosure would create a significant risk.

Browser preferences

A cookie preference can be stored locally in your browser when you select it. This does not contain your session note or email address. See the Cookies notice for the storage key, purpose and controls.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law and circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal information, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify a request.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or another competent supervisory authority. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to address a concern.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the site's functions or processing arrangements change. The version published on this page describes the current website implementation.
